Client reviews
Camera clients, in their words.
We contacted Three Factor because we had some vandalism issues at the back of our house... Alex came out for the initial assessment... We are thrilled with how well it all works and how quickly and professionally the installation was handled.
They were professional, honest, and also had the most reasonable quote based on several other companies in my area. During the installation, they were on time and stayed to make sure the software was up and running on my phone.
All of my cameras would stop working in the evenings... Ended up diagnosing and changing a bad power supply that could no longer keep up with the added surge from night vision.
Common questions
Security camera installation questions
Guidance is prepared and reviewed by Three Factor Security’s named Security Solutions Manager and Security Solutions Engineers. Final recommendations are based on a professional assessment, the existing infrastructure, the property’s operating needs, and the systems selected.
How much does a commercial security camera system cost?
There is no flat per-camera price. Cost depends on what you need the system to do: how many cameras and what kind, how far they need to identify someone, and how long you keep footage. We assess the property and document the full scope before presenting a project-specific proposal.
What is the difference between UniFi Protect and AXIS camera systems?
UniFi Protect is a locally managed system that is often a strong fit if you want simple administration and already use UniFi networking or access control. AXIS supports a broad range of specialized cameras, analytics, and integrations. We pick one, or combine them, based on the property, budget, and growth plan.
Do security cameras need internet access to keep recording?
Not necessarily. A properly configured local recorder keeps recording while its power, network, and drives stay healthy. Off-site viewing and remote alerts generally need internet. We can discuss backup connectivity for critical remote access.
How long is security camera footage stored?
It depends on drive capacity, camera count, and how much activity each scene records. Thirty to ninety days is a common commercial target, but the right number comes from your operating, insurance, and compliance needs. We calculate storage before equipment is finalized.
Can I view cameras remotely, and who can access the recordings?
On supported systems, you view footage by phone or browser, with role-based permissions you control. Three Factor Security does not need standing access to your video. We get temporary support access only when you authorize it and the scope calls for it.
Can existing cameras be reused or expanded later?
Often, yes, once we check compatibility, condition, and firmware. Some ONVIF-compatible third-party cameras work with supported platforms, though features may be more limited than with native devices. We tell you what can stay and what should be replaced before proposing an upgrade.
What camera resolution and lens do I actually need?
More megapixels don't automatically give you better evidence. Lens, distance, and lighting all matter. Plate capture and long-range identification usually need a camera positioned and lensed for that job, rather than one wide-angle camera covering everything.
Do you offer video analytics such as people, vehicle, line-crossing, or loitering alerts?
Yes, if the camera and software support them. Set up properly, analytics can classify people and vehicles, read license plates, and cut down on routine motion alerts. We review accuracy, privacy, and how your team will respond before turning them on.
